Bison yarn is made from the undercoat of a bison. The coat of a bison (which protects their hides from the wet and cold) is two types of hair: outer guard hairs, and a downy undercoat. This 1lb bag of bison down has been collected off our bison here directly at the farm. It has been washed, combed and is free from the course fine hairs. There are variations to color - dark down and tan down. There has been no dyes added, no soap used, and no manipulation of any kind aside from gentle warm water wash followed with combing and an airdry.
