Jalapeño Bison Burger

Grill a bison patty, top with spicy jalapeños, and serve in a toasted bun for a bold and flavorful Jalapeño Bison Burger.

Cook Time: 10-15 minutes (5-7 minutes per side for patties

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground bison

  • 2-3 fresh jalapeños, sliced

  • 4 hamburger buns

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 4 slices of pepper jack or cheddar cheese (optional)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, mayonnaise, or other condiments

Instructions

  • Shape the ground bison into 4 equal patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  • Place the bison patties on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  • While the patties are grilling, heat the olive oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced jalapeños and sauté for 2-3 minutes, until they are slightly softened.

  • Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes, or until lightly browned.

  • Place each bison patty on the bottom half of a toasted bun. Top with sautéed jalapeños and a slice of cheese, if using. Add any additional toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, or onion.

  • Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
